Câ € ™ is this wonderful time of year when flowers begin to bloom, the days are warmer and many of us look in the mirror wondering how to lose the winter coat and even where to begin. Do not fear my old friends from hibernation I have a few quick, easy and entertaining suggestions to help you at the door and fighting shape come summer time.
First, become your own Drill Sergeant. When I joined the army I was 80 pounds overweight and in poor condition. My â € € œfriendlyâ Drill Instructor was not only able to help me lose that extra 80 but 20 more pounds. How? Tough Love! He used it on me, I use about myself and now youâ € ™ re gonna use on yourself. This accountability means. Not more hypersomnia or skip workouts for happy hour. Youa € ™ re going to make a plan to get fit and stick with it. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I tell my clients Gut Check Fitness œDonâ € â € ™ t focus on the balance. Concentrate on getting fit and healthy and weight loss will happen. Either weight loss is a by-product and form incredible to be your goal.
Second, keep it simple. What I mean is you nâ ™ € t have to go buy some fancy exercise Gizmo or join an expensive health club, use Whatâ € ™ s available. The oldest and most effective training programs in the world is the Army Boot Camp style. You can also make easy or difficult as you want. Start with the basic gymnastics. My favorites are pull-ups or modified pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, dips, cracks and squats to start with. When you start depends on your fitness level. May beginners start with 2-3 sets of 10-15 repetitions, more advanced can do 20-25 reps and all my HOO-RAHS there, I want to make a descent pyramids of 50-40-30-20-10. Is it difficult, yes. It works, yes! I personally recommend your circuit gym 2-3 days a week, such as MWF. Tip; to make it harder and get better results, add a pair of 10-20LB Dumbbell your routine and I like to use Whatâ € ™ s available, such as rocks, bricks, logs, etc. It keeps it fun and definitely makes the neighbors wondering what the hell youâ € ™ re up to.
Third, changes in your heart. Weightlifting and gymnastics to help build muscle Cardio and there really helps get rid of unwanted fat. Unfortunately most people are guilty of leaving the door and do the same old race or ride all day in the same old pace. Guess what? They see the same old results! Youa € ™ ve got to change and do what I call, â € € œshock your body.â A couple of my favorite additions to the training program to really spice is to add or hill stair repeats and speed work. These two alone undoubtedly the shock of your body freshly unhibernated. Go to your favorite hill or stairs and then run them back to 3 or 4 times or for about 15-45 minutes. Next meeting, hit your local track or on the street for some speed work, run either distance or time, eg 400 m or repeat for 1-2 minutes. Again, depends on your fitness level, and how much you want to work. I recommends some form of cardio most days of the week, usually at least four or five. Liena € ™ s my time, Monday â € "off, Tuesday â € "hills / stairs, Wednesday â €" easy day hike on Thursday â € "driving speed, Friday â € "cross training, Saturday â €" Gut Check Fitness Workout & Sunday â € "mountain bike with my friends. Every couple weeks I change it up. You do not have the same. Change can certainly be good when it comes to getting more fit. Remember, the road to get fit and healthy should be a fun ride. Find things you enjoy doing, whether swimming, cycling, running or surfing then go ahead. Nowa € ™ s time to get out there to try new things and get into the best shape of your life â € œthatâ € ™ is a private matter! About the Author:
