Shed Those Pesky Pounds With These Simple Tips

April 2nd, 2012 No comments

Finding ways to pair your meals with physical exercise will help your weight loss along. Instead of eating at home have a picnic on a nice day. Eat at a local park, and if you can, walk there. If you have time, planning some of your meals combined with a physical activity will help you work off some calories and lose weight.

While you are on a diet, you may find yourself eating out at a restaurant. Just know that their portions will be larger. One way to avoid overeating is to ask your server to for a to-go container when you order. You should cut your meal’s portions down to size when it arrives and pack the excess as leftovers before you dig in. You will than have lunch already for another day, and you won’t have consumed so many calories.

When you start watching your diet, it is good to plan your meals to have a daily calorie intake of 2,000 calories. Be sure you are getting the proper amounts of vitamins and minerals in your meals. If your plan leaves out any nutritional necessities, you can use multivitamins to make up the shortfall or modify your plan accordingly.

Consider popping in a piece of sugarless gum whenever you get hungry when you are dieting. Chewing gum has been shown to help supress the appetite. Chewing a lot of gum can be unhealthy as it triggers the release of stomach acids and can be detrimental to the health of your gums or teeth.

For weight reduction, go with leaner forms of meat. Throw away those rich and creamy sauces and instead try a delicious salsa or chutney. Your meat won’t taste bland or feel dried out. Chutney comes in many different flavors and varieties, so you can experiment with what tastes the best.

Be sure to read every food nutrition label when trying to lose weight. How many calories are in each serving? This is an important thing to know. Remember that most food packages contain multiple servings. Because of this, you must count the calories for each serving you eat. The amount of sugars and carbs should also be taken into account as well.

If you want your weight loss plan to be successful, it must include time for breakfast. Many people make this mistake in their fervor to lose weigh quickly, but this strategy backfires on most that try it. Actually, you will probably eat more snacks during the day, resulting in a higher calorie total.

To help you lose weight efficiently, you should cook meals at home rather than eat out. It is very easy to make unhealthy selections when eating out, and that is what happens for many people. Another benefit of preparing your own meals is saving money.

Don’t eat anything less than three hours before going to sleep, and if you do eat a meal later in the evening, keep it light on carbs. This helps you to sleep more easily and not retain as many calories.

Fad diets look like a great idea. However, if you really want to lose weight and keep it off, it’s better to stay away from dietary fads. Fad diets are exactly that; fads. They can tell you that living off of toast and peanut butter will give you a body like Venus, however, when the new wears off, you are just stuck with a pile of burnt bread, sticky fingers and a need for a new diet. Even worse is the fact that these diets do not educate you on proper nutrition. The most effective diets are those that focus on teaching you how to eat a balanced diet.

A new strategy may indeed give you better results. Weight loss is achievable.

Flat Stomach Workout

George asks…

Daily workout to get a flat stomach?

My whole stomach is just fat… Jiggly fat. How lovely. And I have that pooch thing right in the front… and whenever I put on tight jeans the fat actually bubbles over the jeans… and especially the pooch.

What is a daily workout I can do that will make all the extra fat and the pooch go away? Something that doesn’t require equipment. And something that REALLY works!!! Please help.
I am not overweight at all. My legs are ALL muscle. I just have tons of fat surronding my stomach.
I dont hame dumbells…. Hence “No equipment”

Editor answers:

Jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
An excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

Joseph asks…

Exercises that burn fat?

I’m 62kg and 5’8”…My daily calorie intake is no more 1800 cals a day given the fact that I have a sedentary lifestyle and I don’t really even eat that much the past month.I’ve noticed some bad cellulite on my thighs lately so I said ”this is it,I’m going to the gym”..I plan on going 4 to 5 times a week for an hour and I want to of course get rid of the cellulite but also the extra fat I have on my belly and thighs…My arms could use some exercise as well…So what do you suggest I do?..Like what kind of exercises to achieve the results I want?…..I know I need to do a lot of cardio but I’m not really an expert when it comes to these things,so help is greatly appreciated…=D
oh and of course I’ll eat in a healthier way,as healthy as I can that is because my choice of food is quite limited…=(

I recommend doing a variety of all sorts of activities, like jumproping, jumping jacks, hula hooping, crunches, situps, pullups, pushups, planks, jackknives, stretching, lifting weights, yoga, pilates, squats, lungs, bicycling, swimming, running, work out CD’s, and strength training. Doing as many different activities as you can that use different muscles is important- it will help you get so much more toned, and lose more weight. Just try and fit as much exercise as you can in a day.

Robert asks…

Is Eating eggs everyday bad?

So I eat 2 eggs ( boiled ) about everyday. This is my breakfast.

Protein powder + water + banana in blender ( taste so good ) <– adds up to about 160-200 calories
with two eggs ( boiled ) and some almonds
All together that's around 350 calories for breakfast right there.

Will eggs help me burn belly fat? I’m 15. 120 pounds and 5’7. I’m fit for my age ( i work out lifting 2 times a week, and recently started to do like 10-15 minute runs in the morning doing 6.5-7 mph on a treadmill.
I’m trying to gain muscle and loose fat. I eat protein after my lifting days and then do cardio on the days I don’t lift. I’m and athletic and have an athletic body and have a flat stomach but there is still some fat on me that i want off so that my stomach looks more toned. I figured that my breakfast is healthy. Will those foods give me energy? Is the fat in eggs ( the yolk ) bad or good fat. Is it the kind of fat that are like in almonds…the good fats?

I eat around 1600-1700 calories a day. I don’t ever eat junk and eat really healthy. I love being fit :) thanks!

Editor answers:

At 15, 5’7- you are beyond perfect. Guys dont want a stick thin girl so unless you want to be a stick thin model or something…your body is much nicer this weigh.

Mary asks…

Jogging after a meal?

How long do I have to wait after having dinner until I can go for a jog, so that I can burn fat rather than the food in my belly.
Also, how long should I jog for in order to lose belly fat and get a 6-pack? I am skinny, not fat at all, but want to lose all the fat on my belly.

Editor answers:

Normal person average is to wait 2 hours, but it varies depending on individual metabolism.

To lose belly fat and get 6 pack, jog or cycling for about half an hour. When jogging and cycling, it doesn’t have to be ‘tough’, just keep it steady for a longer period of time. Half hour is minimum, 45 mins is best. This is to burn out all the calories.

Then lie on ground near a wall, sit your butt close to the wall so that both your legs are on the wall and your body lie on the ground, forming a 90 degree. Keep your butt to the wall at all time. Move your hands up and touch your toes. As you do that, your butt may move out leaving the wall a bit, sit them back to the wall. Continue doing some cycles on this. You will feel very effective 6 pack ache or burning effect without hurting your back.

Do 30 reach up straight, 30 right hand to left toe, 30 left hand to right toe, rest and breath 50 times.

Repeat above 3 times, 5 times 8 times or 10 times as you get stronger

Sandy asks…

Will sit ups burn fat off of my stomach, or just build muscle underneath the fat?

I’ve been inactive for the last 10 months due to illness. I’ve lost 65 pounds, much of which is muscle, but still have a large belly which is hurting my back. I’ve started very slowly doing sit ups every day and want to know if the fat will melt away from this exercise. Thanks.

Editor answers:

Situps will only increase the muscle underneath. There is no way to target your stomach fat over other parts of your body.

John asks…

I have been working on my abs and really want that to show when I wear a biking this summer. I can go to my school gym 2-3 times a week, and they have your basic equipment like tread mills elepticals and bikes aswell as a crunch machine and a roman chair( u do sit-ups on it ) swell as a lot of different weights. I’m just looking for a balanced excersize routine that will get rid of my belly. I only have the tiniest bit to loose, but it just won’t go away! Also any eating tips would be helpful. I dint want to go in a diet, just tips to eat healthier.

Ps. Boys, do you like for a girl to have small “girl” abs, or just a flat stomach?
