Foods Burn Belly Fat

George asks…

Want To Lose Fat, not Weight?

Im 16 years old, weigh 141 pounds and im 5 feet 6.

For the past 3 weeks i’ve been watching what I eat, from fatty chocolate icecream, cakes, cheese etc…, to healty fruit/veg/lean chicken etc…

I was 145 pounds 3 weeks ago, and now im 141 pounds. The problem is: I want to lose FAT, not weight. I walk nearly everyday for 45 min on the treadmill, and lift weights every 2nd day.

How do I lose the belly fat? What speed on the treadmill is suitable for walking to burn fat?

Any additional information on excersises and/or ‘food’ would be appreciated.

Thanks

Editor answers:

First off, I really don’t think you should panic about your weight. I weight 10 pounds more than you and i feel great.

But if you need advice, treadmill is working the muscles in your legs not your stomach, i expect that your legs are quite toned and your upper body isn’t.

You can’t lose Fat without doing cardio work outs and stretches to stretch the muscles in your stomach try pilates and yoga you can find beginner videos on youtube easily. But you also need to tone the area of your stomach and chest, if you want to do this try sit up do three sets of eight in the normal poisition and then try it with weights on your stomach for another set, it really works the middles stomach area, but you can find other poisititons on the web.

Food wise stick with the healthy stuff but don’t beat yourself up if you eat a small choclate bar, a daily intake for someone on the verge of adulthood is about 1,500 calories a day, so basically don’t eat a takeaway if the matter comes about turn it down and create your own healthy dinner, steamed veg and grilled chicken.
And as your a teenager i expect periods are a big part of your life at the moment, avoid anything with carbs in it when you are on your period such as rice pasta and orange juice.

Eat you 5 a day, i find iif you make a fruit smoothie it is easier to fit your 5 a day in.

I hope this is helpful, it’s my first ever comment on one of these things, hopefully i did a good job.

First of all, if you want to lose fat and not muscle do not go on a low calorie/ low fat diet, Your body will basically lose weight by starving itself and then turning to partly muscle, partly fat stores to burn.

Try a higher calorie, ketogenic diet such as Atkins.
Here are some studies in regards to low carb, versus low fat and weight loss (fat and muscle) Feel free to research these studies on your own as well.

Charlotte Young, professor of clinical nutrition at Cornell University did this one. She ALSO used a technique to measure body fat that involved immersion underwater. She had three groups: they all ate 1,800 calories everyday, but one group ate 104 carbs per day, another group ate 60 carbs per day, and the last ate 30 carbs per day.
This experiment lasted 9 weeks.
The results??
The 104 g carb group lost about 2 lbs of fat per week (out of 2.73 total weight per week),
The 60 g carb group lost roughly 2.5 lbs of fat per week (out of 3 lbs total per week)
and the 30 g carb group (the only one that produced ketosis) lost 3.75 lbs fat per week (and that is out of 3.75 lbs total, every bit of the weight loss on the very low carb was FAT)

Another study was done by two researchers back in the 1950′s by the name of Professor Alan Kekwick and Dr. Gaston L.S. Pawan. They conducted their studies in Britain, and here is how it went.

They had three groups, all ate 1,000 calories per day, but one group ate 90 % carb, another ate 90 % protein, and the last ate 100% fat,
The 90% carb group gained a little weight on 1,000 calories a day!
90 % protein diet lost .6 lb per day
and
90 % fat lost .9 lb a day.
(Kekwikc and Pawan discovered a fat mobilizing substance {feel free to look up that too for more info)
that helped them burn off fat stores (with the more fat less carbs)
and their weight loss continued even when they ate as much as 2,600 calories
so much for the ‘calorie theory”

the last study that I will mention comes from Oakland Naval Hospital when a researcher by the name of Frederick Benoit did an experiment dealing with diets consisting of 1,000 calories per day with 10 g carb and high fat (they used body composition technology as well), it was compared to fasting group and lasted 10 days.
Those who fasted lost roughly 21 pounds but only 7.5 lbs was fat, most was muscle loss.
On the controlled carb over 10 days lost 14.5 lbs, and when there body composition was tested, 14 lbs of it was fat.

I really hope this helps you.
Go to a library or bookstore and get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, READ the thing and try it out.
Hope this helps,

What set of food/drinks shoudl i eat to increase metabolism for ABS ?

ok i need set of foods/drinks that will increase my metabolism .. i need to burn the excess belly fat to have visible abs .. what should i eat and NOT EAT .. and should drink ?

WILL GREEN TEA HELP ME ALOT ? ill drink alot if it helps me big .. thanks you

Editor answers:

One food you want to definitely avoid is SOY. Soy contains lots of goitrogens that slow the metabolism down. In fact, it is so bad that drug companies put in their information circulars with thyroid medications to avoid eating any soy products.

Many RAW foods contain anti-nutrients such as goitrogens. Broccoli and cauliflower are two that need to be steamed before eating to avoid the goitrogens because the heat gets rid of them.

COCONUT oil and any coconut products are excellent for increasing metabolism. Coconut contains 50% lauric acid that stimulates the thyroid gland to increase metabolism. To burn excess belly fat it is important to get good hydrochloric acid production in your stomach to eliminate the toxins that form due to bad digestion. It’s important to limit the carbs you eat for many reasons because they give you immediate energy, but fast fleeting energy only. Eating good fats will help your stamina and prevent hunger so you won’t be tempted to buy a sugar snack, etc. Eating a snack of nuts and seeds, mixed with coconut flakes is an excellent boost to the metabolism, etc.

Green tea you buy in America contains lots of fluoride. Fluoride must be avoided at all costs, including the toothpaste and commercially prepared drinks like sodas that all contain lots of fluoride. Fluoride depletes the body of IODINE. Since the thyroid gland only utilizes about 4% of the IODINE you consume, it’s important to not be deficient in this. There are some green tea extracts that use a probiotic process that gets rid of the caffeine and fluoride from the green tea and are very good to consume.

Do a quick iodine test to see if you are deficient in this. If you are, you need to find a Certified Nutritional Therapist that can help you straighten this out. To do the test: Get a small bottle of “Tincture of Iodine” and paint a 2″ x 3″ patch on your forearm. Do this in the morning, first thing. Watch it throughout the day. It should be visible 24 hours later. If it disappears in a few hours, you are very deficient in iodine and are going to need to correct this to keep your metabolism up.

Good luck to you

Steven asks…

the best way to lose belly fat is…?

Editor answers:

To get a flat belly you need avocados, berries, green tea, oatmeal and tomatoes.

Maria asks…

Can I lose 2-3 pounds of belly fat in 8 days? Please help?

Ok, so I’m 17 5′ 8″ 135 pds relatively muscular upper body. Right now I have a 4 pack pretty much because of the layer of fat around my belly. On Monday I started soccer camp and league so my schedule this week looks like this:

soccer 10a-12p
weight training 3p-4p
soccer game 6p-8p OR work 6p-10p

Right now I am eating relatively healthy maybe a little too light. I take in about 1,500 and burn about 3,000 everyday since Monday. If I continue a routine like this, should I be able to lose the 1-2 pds of belly fat I have?

PS please do not tell me I need to eat more. I eat 4 small meals a day and ALWAYS eat when I’m hungry. I just find healthy alternatives.

Mathematically, I realize I can, but will the fat I lose come from my belly or somewhere else or just overall? Can I do anything extra to focus my fat loss on the stomach?

Editor answers:

When you lose weight, it comes from all of your body, not just a specific part. There is no such thing as “spot reducing” weight from a specific part of your body.

You can work to tone your muscles of a specific body part (biceps, abs, etc) but that is it.

Donald asks…

lose just a little belly and thigh fat in two weeks, POINTS! help!?

everyone thinks i’m skinny, but truth is i am starting to gain fat in my stomach area and have always had it in my thighs. i really want to do this within 2 weeks. i take dance 3 times a week, but what foods should i eat and are there any exercises? thank you, remember 10 points!

Editor answers:

Running, cycling, swimming, dancing, brisk walking and power walking all help.

Unfortunately belly fat is extremely stubborn and is usually the last fat to go.

For a flat belly you need avocados, berries, green tea, oatmeal or tomatoes.

You can see further details in a web search for “5 foods for a flat belly”.

Flat Stomach Fast

February 3rd, 2012 No comments

Helen asks…

what are some ways to get a flat stomach fast?

i’m a fifteen year old girl who is trying to tone up her body before summer comes. i understand summer is just a few weeks away, but what are some things i can do to help tone up my stomach area, and thighs.
*also i seem to be very curvy; are there ways to reduce the curvyness?

Editor answers:

Well I recommend first to know what is your fat percentage. If you don’t have a scale that do this, you can go to walmart or kmart they have it. Depending on that, you can decide how much cardio to burn fat you should do. Burning 3,500 calories = 1 pound of fat. If you want faster results, you can do a diet along with the excersice but in my case I don’t like to do diets. However, I don’t drink soda and don’t like sweets. Good luck!

EDIT: I forgot to add that you need to do crunches to make the muscles in your stomach stronger and able to see when you burn the fat in the stomach. I’m including the link of a video on Youtube with abs excersices:

Her name is Zuzana and she got one of the best bodies I’ve seen in my life. She’s thin and tone which is very hard to do.

Steven asks…

How Can I get a FLAT STOMACH FAST?

i used to live in california, recently i moved and i am visiting there for spring break. unfoirtunately, if gotten slightly flabby, but not too much. still, i want to impress my friends and feel great in that bikkini. any tips?? THANKS!

Editor answers:

Abs are made in the kitchen. Watch your diet, and i don’t mean stop eating or eating less. If you stop eating you will gain more weight at first because your body goes into survival mode and adds more fat. The key is to eat healthy and split your meals into smaller portions while eating 4-5 meals instead of 3 big meals.
Also, cardio is a must. That means any type of running/jogging, and other things that gets your heart pumping.

Robert asks…

How can i get a flat stomach, and fast?

I want a flat stomach really bad. i don’t need abs, just a flat stomach. & I’d like it as fast as possible. What works the best? I try & eat healthy.. but what kind of exercise?

Editor answers:

First start by getting up earlier than usual. Around 5:30 am to do some of your workouts. Getting up early shocks your metabolism because the body needs more energy to get going. Right? This will start your system on the road to weight loss. That early start with about 10 minutes of stretching. Have a cup of coffee to get the blood going also. Do all the sit-ups you can. Just do them. 15 or 20 whatever, we don’t have a lot of time to work with. Rest 1 minute repeat, do this for 6 sets. Already you are breathing hard and feel worn, because the body is working extra hard at being up earlier and then going right into exercise. If the early morning hours, lets get your cardio in, go ahead and do it. 30 minutes. Diet. Cut all current meal portions in half, just cut them in half, nothing fancy or complicated CUT IN HALF! Cut out all bread products, all gravies, candies, chips, night snacks, etc. If you crave at night eat a banana, other fruit or best a non-fat yogurt. There are some tasty ones out there. In the evening do another 6 sets of sit-ups maxing out each set. Cardio again. The trick is to stay with getting up earlier. Yes its hard, that’s why it is so effective. Why do you think the Army gets up so early, it is intense training to the max. Do this for 6-9 weeks you will have results!

Lose Belly Fat Men

Richard asks…

how to lose weight over this summer before school starts up?

i am a 14 year old bot that is about 5’3 and about 130 pounds please tell what are some good tips and some good excersises to lose belly fat, fat off legs, and man breats

Editor answers:

“Man breasts”, or gynecomastia, is a grey area when it comes to fat loss. As someone who’s suffered with it, mine was the result of steroidal treatments for conditions from an early age. Other factors can stimulate growth there that might just be just fat. If your dad has it then chances are you will need to see the doctor for some blood testing to see what’s causing the growth. Even under a strict fat loss regime, if the chest is already developed then they won’t drastically disappear due to the glandular tissue growth that is occurring/has occurred.

In any case, the key to fat loss is cardio activity for extended periods of time (20-30 mins a session); swimming, hiking, running, jump rope etc. You would also be wise to include some resistance training (freeweights, calisthenics) to help encourage muscular growth beneath the outer layer of fat. A shake up in your diet might be in order to further assist the losses, as well.

See below resource for further info. There’s also a lot of other sites to search for online. Good luck!

15 and want to lose fat.?

i have a litttle bit of belly fat and man boobs. my arms ar skinny and legs to. its only the stomach area. do i reallly have to count my calories or should i just eat healthy and eat whenever im hungry?

Editor answers:

Most people i know who have lost weight and look fit but didn’t start with freaky fast metabolism had to some sort of excercise.

Try something fun like martial arts or something? If you find a style you like, then you’ll be able to easily do 2 hour work out sessions which just burns all the fat off :) plus you’ll be able to kick peoples asses!

Exercises Burn Belly Fat Best

Chris asks…

10points for best answer. Will appreciate all answers.Toning question.?

I work out. Since the last week of Januray I have done over 15,000 situps. Done almost 3,000 pushups. Spent over 1050 minuties on the exercise bike.I do cardio about twice a week. The Exercise bike 3-5 times a week for 30 min. Abs and pushups everyday.I started pilates about a month ago and do that about twice a week. I lift weights 3 times a week.

I eat very healthy and I fuss about every little calorie. I am in high school so shouldn’t my metabolism by off the walls?

I have lost about 15 pounds and put on a couple pounds of muscle but I just have a little belly fat I can’t seem to burn off. Is there anything that might get me over the hump.

Editor answers:

You are excersing to much take a week off or more give your body a rest and it will even out.

Charles asks…

Is this OK for losing a belly?

I’m 17 years old, 6ft 1 and weigh 12 and a half stone. I’m not fat, in fact, all my friends call me lanky.

However, whenever I sit down I notice I have a bit of a podgy belly. It’s not too big, but I would still like to get my stomach totally flat.

I’ve heard you can’t “spot reduce”, so I am going to try this, is it OK?:-

Exercise 30-40 minutes on a rowing machine and eliptic trainer 3-4 times a week.
Eat less sweets/fatty foods/in general.
Eat more fruit/veg etc.

Also,

+ The eliptic trainer I have has lots of different ‘programs’ – I don’t know which one I should choose. There is fat burn, weight loss and cardio. Which is best?

+ How long before I start to see results and my stomach flattening?

+ Anything else you recommend?

Thanks so much!

Editor answers:

Obviously fat burn is to burn up excess fat and cardio is to build muscle but it sound like you only need exercises to tone up your muscles – I would do whatever one you feel pressure on your stomach area, and for good health east less sweets and eat more veg and fruit but beware of too much fruit as some of it is high in fruit sugars, especially bananas. It should take a few weeks before you see any change and will need to continue it to keep it off.

Ruth asks…

Want to get in shape for summer!?

I’ve never been fat before, but I just gained 20 pounds in about a month! :(
I’d love to start eating healthier, and exercising (I used to run but stopped) but that’s not the point.
Every magazine and website you look at claims to have the best way to burn fat, and I don’t know what to try!

All I want to do is GET RID of my newfound belly fat. Could someone please give me some tips?
As long as it’s not super expensive or just plain outrageous, I’m pretty much willing to try anything!!!

Thanks.

Editor answers:

You could do an anti-bloat/detox for like three days to begin eating healthier
it helps a lot! (the flat belly diet has a FANTASTIC anti-bloat section, you can probably find it at your local library) and then basically try and eat more fruits and veggies as you continue after your first three days.
Exercising helps significantly, you could get back into running or something. All you need is like 30 minutes of exercise every three days and your belly fat should be waving goodbye!!
Good luck!!!
