Foods Burn Belly Fat

George asks…
Want To Lose Fat, not Weight?
Im 16 years old, weigh 141 pounds and im 5 feet 6.
For the past 3 weeks i’ve been watching what I eat, from fatty chocolate icecream, cakes, cheese etc…, to healty fruit/veg/lean chicken etc…
I was 145 pounds 3 weeks ago, and now im 141 pounds. The problem is: I want to lose FAT, not weight. I walk nearly everyday for 45 min on the treadmill, and lift weights every 2nd day.
How do I lose the belly fat? What speed on the treadmill is suitable for walking to burn fat?
Any additional information on excersises and/or ‘food’ would be appreciated.
Thanks

First off, I really don’t think you should panic about your weight. I weight 10 pounds more than you and i feel great.
But if you need advice, treadmill is working the muscles in your legs not your stomach, i expect that your legs are quite toned and your upper body isn’t.
You can’t lose Fat without doing cardio work outs and stretches to stretch the muscles in your stomach try pilates and yoga you can find beginner videos on youtube easily. But you also need to tone the area of your stomach and chest, if you want to do this try sit up do three sets of eight in the normal poisition and then try it with weights on your stomach for another set, it really works the middles stomach area, but you can find other poisititons on the web.
Food wise stick with the healthy stuff but don’t beat yourself up if you eat a small choclate bar, a daily intake for someone on the verge of adulthood is about 1,500 calories a day, so basically don’t eat a takeaway if the matter comes about turn it down and create your own healthy dinner, steamed veg and grilled chicken.
And as your a teenager i expect periods are a big part of your life at the moment, avoid anything with carbs in it when you are on your period such as rice pasta and orange juice.
Eat you 5 a day, i find iif you make a fruit smoothie it is easier to fit your 5 a day in.
I hope this is helpful, it’s my first ever comment on one of these things, hopefully i did a good job.

First of all, if you want to lose fat and not muscle do not go on a low calorie/ low fat diet, Your body will basically lose weight by starving itself and then turning to partly muscle, partly fat stores to burn.
Try a higher calorie, ketogenic diet such as Atkins.
Here are some studies in regards to low carb, versus low fat and weight loss (fat and muscle) Feel free to research these studies on your own as well.
Charlotte Young, professor of clinical nutrition at Cornell University did this one. She ALSO used a technique to measure body fat that involved immersion underwater. She had three groups: they all ate 1,800 calories everyday, but one group ate 104 carbs per day, another group ate 60 carbs per day, and the last ate 30 carbs per day.
This experiment lasted 9 weeks.
The results??
The 104 g carb group lost about 2 lbs of fat per week (out of 2.73 total weight per week),
The 60 g carb group lost roughly 2.5 lbs of fat per week (out of 3 lbs total per week)
and the 30 g carb group (the only one that produced ketosis) lost 3.75 lbs fat per week (and that is out of 3.75 lbs total, every bit of the weight loss on the very low carb was FAT)
Another study was done by two researchers back in the 1950′s by the name of Professor Alan Kekwick and Dr. Gaston L.S. Pawan. They conducted their studies in Britain, and here is how it went.
They had three groups, all ate 1,000 calories per day, but one group ate 90 % carb, another ate 90 % protein, and the last ate 100% fat,
The 90% carb group gained a little weight on 1,000 calories a day!
90 % protein diet lost .6 lb per day
and
90 % fat lost .9 lb a day.
(Kekwikc and Pawan discovered a fat mobilizing substance {feel free to look up that too for more info)
that helped them burn off fat stores (with the more fat less carbs)
and their weight loss continued even when they ate as much as 2,600 calories
so much for the ‘calorie theory”
the last study that I will mention comes from Oakland Naval Hospital when a researcher by the name of Frederick Benoit did an experiment dealing with diets consisting of 1,000 calories per day with 10 g carb and high fat (they used body composition technology as well), it was compared to fasting group and lasted 10 days.
Those who fasted lost roughly 21 pounds but only 7.5 lbs was fat, most was muscle loss.
On the controlled carb over 10 days lost 14.5 lbs, and when there body composition was tested, 14 lbs of it was fat.
I really hope this helps you.
Go to a library or bookstore and get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, READ the thing and try it out.
Hope this helps,

One food you want to definitely avoid is SOY. Soy contains lots of goitrogens that slow the metabolism down. In fact, it is so bad that drug companies put in their information circulars with thyroid medications to avoid eating any soy products.
Many RAW foods contain anti-nutrients such as goitrogens. Broccoli and cauliflower are two that need to be steamed before eating to avoid the goitrogens because the heat gets rid of them.
COCONUT oil and any coconut products are excellent for increasing metabolism. Coconut contains 50% lauric acid that stimulates the thyroid gland to increase metabolism. To burn excess belly fat it is important to get good hydrochloric acid production in your stomach to eliminate the toxins that form due to bad digestion. It’s important to limit the carbs you eat for many reasons because they give you immediate energy, but fast fleeting energy only. Eating good fats will help your stamina and prevent hunger so you won’t be tempted to buy a sugar snack, etc. Eating a snack of nuts and seeds, mixed with coconut flakes is an excellent boost to the metabolism, etc.
Green tea you buy in America contains lots of fluoride. Fluoride must be avoided at all costs, including the toothpaste and commercially prepared drinks like sodas that all contain lots of fluoride. Fluoride depletes the body of IODINE. Since the thyroid gland only utilizes about 4% of the IODINE you consume, it’s important to not be deficient in this. There are some green tea extracts that use a probiotic process that gets rid of the caffeine and fluoride from the green tea and are very good to consume.
Do a quick iodine test to see if you are deficient in this. If you are, you need to find a Certified Nutritional Therapist that can help you straighten this out. To do the test: Get a small bottle of “Tincture of Iodine” and paint a 2″ x 3″ patch on your forearm. Do this in the morning, first thing. Watch it throughout the day. It should be visible 24 hours later. If it disappears in a few hours, you are very deficient in iodine and are going to need to correct this to keep your metabolism up.
Good luck to you
